Anna Gerber
Viola & Violin Instructor
Violist Anna Gerber is passionate about sharing the joy of music in both the concert hall and the teaching studio. An avid chamber and orchestral musician, Anna has performed in the viola sections of the Akron Symphony Orchestra and Firelands Symphony Orchestra and has appeared as principal violist with orchestras at the National Orchestral Institute, the Masterworks Festival, and the Colorado College Summer Music Festival. She also performs in a variety of settings in the greater Cleveland area as a member of the BlueWater Chamber Orchestra.
The Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) brought Anna to Northeast Ohio, where she continues to live, perform, and teach today. At CIM she studied viola with Mark Jackobs and Robert Vernon as well as piano with Gerardo Teissonnière. She earned her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in viola performance, was certified in Suzuki pedagogy, and earned minors in music theory and piano. Anna is committed to incorporating the music theory and pedagogical philosophies she studied into all lessons in order to develop excellent technique and a deeper appreciation for music.
